EDTC 6321 – Instructional Design

This course uses an instructional systems design model to guide the student in systematically developing effective Instruction. Theoretical and practical issues in instructional systems design are examined. Other instructional design models are introduced. Lec. 3, Cr. 3.

Key Course Activities

• IU1: Identification of  Needs and Defining the Learning Goals

In this activity an audience and environment analysis was performed in order to create an instructional goal that meets certain criteria.

• IU2: Conducting a Task Analysis

​The instructional goal was broken down into parts through task analysis, which then informs the development of performance objectives and corresponding assessment instruments.

• IU3: Create First Draft Materials

​A plan was created to help learners achieve performance objectives by combining appropriate instructional strategies and media.

• IU4: Formative Evaluation

The instructional unit underwent a formative evaluation process to assess its quality and identify areas for improvement.
